What is jointer

A table saw (also known as a sawbench or bench saw in England) is a woodworking tool, consisting of a circular saw blade, mounted on an arbor, that is driven by an electric motor (either directly, by belt, by cable, or by gears). The drive mechanism is mounted below a table that provides support for the material, usually wood, being cut, with the blade protruding up through the table into the material.

The table saw (or stationary circular saw) consists of a circular saw that can be raised and tilted, protruding through a slot in a horizontal metal table on which the work can be laid and pushed into contact with the saw. This saw is one of the basic machines in any woodworking shop; with blades of sufficient hardness, table saws can also be used for cutting metal bars.

Types

The general types of table saws are compact, benchtop, jobsite, contractor, hybrid, cabinet, and sliding table saws.

Accessories

Outfeed tables: Table saws are often used to rip long boards or sheets of plywood or other sheet materials. The use of an out feed (or outfeed) table makes this process safer and easier.

Infeed tables: Used to assist feeding long boards or sheets of plywood.

Downdraft tables: Used to draw harmful dust particles away from the user without obstructing the user’s movement or productivity.

Blade Guard:The most common blade guard is a self-adjusting guard that encloses the portion of the saw above the table, and above the stock being cut. The guard automatically adjusts to the thickness of the material being cut and remains in contact with it during the cut.

Rip fence: Table saws commonly have a fence (guide) running from the front of the table (the side nearest the operator) to the back, parallel to the cutting plane of the blade. The distance of the fence from the blade can be adjusted, which determines where on the workpiece the cut is made.

The fence is commonly called a “rip fence” referring to its use in guiding the workpiece during the process of making a rip cut.

Featherboard: Featherboards are used to keep wood against the rip fence. They can be a single spring, or many springs, as made from wood in many shops. They are held in place by high strength magnets, clamps, or expansion bars in the miter slot.

Table saws are versatile saws used for cutting across (crosscut) and with (rip) the wood grain.
They are most commonly used to rip.

After adjusting the height and angle of the blade,the operator pushes the stock into the blade to make the cut.

During operation, the blade saw or circular saw performs reciprocating or rotating cutting motion. Sometimes the tool is made up of several saw blades arranged in parallel for reciprocating motion, and multiple sheets can be sawed out at the same time.

Note：A guide (fence) is used to maintain a straight cut parallel to the blade.

Features

Precision panel saws have been dynamically balanced or statically balanced. Generally, they do not require a foundation and can be processed on a flat ground.

Saw blade:
The main structural feature of the sliding table saw is the use of two saw blades, namely the main saw blade and the scoring saw blade. When cutting, the scribing saw cuts in advance.

First saw a groove with a depth of 1 to 2 mm and a width 0.1 to 0.2 mm thicker than the main saw blade on the bottom surface of the panel to ensure that the edge of the saw edge will not tear when the main saw blade is cutting. Get good sawing quality.

Although the majority of table saws are used for cutting wood, table saws can also be used for cutting sheet plastic, sheet aluminum and sheet brass.

How to Use

Clean the surroundings of the sliding table saw and the table.
Check whether the saw blade is sharp and whether the large and small saw blades are on the same line.
Test machine: It takes about 1 minute to see if the machine is running normally. Check the rotation direction of the saw blades, large and small, to ensure that the saw blades rotate in the correct direction.
